Psychologist and Psychotherapist
Who I am
My name is Martina Lana, I am a psychologist and psychotherapist specializing in constructivist therapy and EMDR. Over the years, I have developed a holistic approach and I am committed to supporting people in their personal growth journey and overcoming moments of crisis. Since 2013, I have lived and worked in Berlin, where I developed my professional career, deepening my expertise in various therapeutic and holistic fields.
Training and Professional Experience
I graduated in Psychology with a focus on neuroscience and neuropsychological rehabilitation at the University of Padua in 2011. In 2017, I specialized in constructivist psychotherapy at the CESIPc Institute in Padua.
My professional career began in 2013 at the Medical Park Neurological Clinic, where I worked as a cognitive rehabilitation therapist and later as the lead psychologist in the intensive care unit with patients in a vegetative state. I then worked as a psychologist for A-Z Hilfen Berlin, an organization focused on the social and functional reintegration of people with mental health issues.
- Since 2018, I have been working privately in my psychotherapy practice, supporting individuals and couples in their journey of inner awareness and overcoming moments of crisis.
- In 2022, I became a holistic well-being consultant and Mindfulness instructor. Since 2023, I co-facilitate a therapy and family constellation group, a therapeutic approach that explores family and relational dynamics, aiming to free participants from emotional blocks and patterns created by past experiences.
- In 2023, I became an EMDR therapist, a psychological method that uses eye movements to facilitate the treatment of trauma and other emotional issues such as stress and difficulties arising from traumatic experiences.
- In 2024, I co-founded the Holistic Center for Psycho-Physical Health in Berlin-Schöneberg, a place where we offer an integrated approach to well-being, combining psychological therapy, holistic techniques, and personal growth practices.
Therapeutic Approach
I am a constructivist psychotherapist, which means I focus on understanding how people build their meaning and understanding of reality. My approach is based on the idea that each individual is unique and that change happens through the exploration of how the person perceives the world and themselves. The goal is to help the individual restructure their thought patterns and find new ways to face life’s challenges.
Additionally, I use the EMDR method (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a psychological therapy that has proven to be highly effective in treating trauma and stressful experiences. The EMDR method uses eye movements to stimulate the brain to reprocess and desensitize traumatic memories, reducing their emotional impact. This technique is particularly useful for people who have experienced trauma but can also be applied to treat other emotional or stressful issues.
In my work, I often incorporate elements of Mindfulness practice, which helps my patients develop greater awareness of the present moment, promoting acceptance and managing thoughts and emotions. I also teach Mindfulness courses, where I teach practical techniques to reduce stress, improve concentration, and develop greater self-awareness.
My approach is based on the integration of psychological and therapeutic methods aimed at achieving unity between the mind and body. I believe that health is the result of a balance between the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual spheres. For this reason, I work using a holistic and multidisciplinary approach, collaborating with professionals from integrated approaches, using techniques such as mindful breathing, relaxation, somatic experience, sound healing, and meditation.
My Vision
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with therapists from various psychological and spiritual approaches, which have enriched my work. My vision is to help people rediscover the deep sense of personal integration and unity with their essence, so they can manifest their life purpose. This process occurs through awareness, self-knowledge, and the practice of self-love. I deeply believe in the work of integrating the internal parts of the individual, because only through this process can we live as conscious and complete adults, taking care of our inner child with love. Integrating the different dimensions of our being allows us to approach life with greater serenity and authenticity, without allowing past wounds and emotional blocks to influence our present.
